Hello friends, are you as excited for Christmas as I am? Because I most certainly am. So let’s talk about the best part of Christmas. It definitely has to be the part where we exchange gifts. I mean who doesn’t like gifts, seriously? Did you'll know that some people exchange their gifts a little too early on the occasion of Christmas. People around the world have their own way of celebrating this beautiful festival with all of their heart.

Like any other festival, every country has its own variants for Christmas customs and traditions too. To give an instance, some people celebrate Christmas only on Christmas Eve while some people have a 12-day feast, celebrating their saints. Most common ways of celebrating Christmas is by decorating and lighting the Christmas tree, giving and receiving presents, and a lot more. In some places in India, people hang huge star-shaped paper lanterns between houses.

People from some countries also decorate the churches in their vicinity with flowers and candles and go to the Midnight Mass Church Service. In most of the Catholic countries, this is the most important church service in the Christmas season. At the same time, some countries celebrate Christmas for as long as from 40 days before Christmas Eve and end around in the first week of February.

So what Christmas tradition do you follow? Let us know in the comment section below and this Christmas keep the holiday spirit alive by sharing these precious moments with your close ones and sharing joy and love. Merry Christmas to all the lovely Wow Kidz Family Members!!!

Nursery Rhymes Learning Videos for Kids | Tooth Brushing Song | Healthy Habits Songs

So parents, here’s one blog from Wow Kidz for you, so we can be of aid to release you from one of the numerous stresses that come along with raising a child. Don’t you wonder that growing up and becoming adults we become so rigid that it’s very difficult for us to change our ways of living or to develop a new habit? Well, it’s rightly said that most habits are better inculcated in the early ages of our lives. However, this may seem like a tough job for the parents, but it’s also mandatory to make sure that the children are growing up with the right set of manners.

It becomes very necessary for children to develop good habits in the early stages of their life. According to the California Department of Education, "Recent brain research indicates that birth to age three are the most important years in a child's development." So it is advisable for parents to start practicing healthy norms with their young ones in their early influential years. Though sometimes it may not seem like children require the same set of mannerisms as us adults, but don't you think some practices can go a long way in our lives?

We all know how prolonged a process it can be for a child to learn something fresh or to adapt to something new in their childhood. Also, teaching good habits may not always include just teaching children regimes like bedtime routines and potty training. It includes a lot more than we can count on. Another reason for that being that kids take time to process what’s being taught to them and occasionally requires repetitive training. That in itself is another problem added to the mentor’s list of ‘challenges in parenting a child’.

Here, at Wow Kidz, we have a solution for one of your problems. So just sit back, relax and watch this 'Healthy Habits song' with your children and teach them some healthy habits with their favorite character VIR: The Robot Boy and his friends.

Wishing A Very Happy Diwali To The Wow Kidz family!!!

Diwali is also traditionally known as the festival of lights because it glorifies everybody's life. It is a ritual where people come together and meet their friends and family, light lamps and earthen diyas, a grand evening of firecrackers to ward off the evils, gorging upon sweet delicacies and quite a few more traditions. Many people also believe in cleaning their houses before Diwali as an invitation to Goddess of wealth and prosperity, Laxmi, for the day of solemnizing Laxmi Puja.

Diwali is generally a five-day celebration mainly performed by the Hindus. All Indian festivals have distinct meanings for people of different cultures and Diwali is no exception. It is observed by people across the world in a very versatile manner and not just in India. Apart from India, this fete is also acknowledged by Indian all over the world with great fervor.

Like every other Indian jamboree, Diwali also has a historic side to it. This holy event is originally observed by many states in India as Naraka Chaturdashi, because the wicked king, Narakasura, was killed by Krishna. For believing in Naraka Chaturdashi, on this day, festivities are very similar to that of Dussehra and the scene is re-enacted where a protagonist, Satyabhama, burns down a tall effigy of diabolic Narakasura. Diwali is celebrated on the ‘no moon day' also known as Amavasya and marks the New Year for Hindus.

So this Diwali instead of just lightening up your own life, spread some light to the poor and needy, instead of bursting crackers burst the evil within you and make your life and surrounding vibrant like the Rangolis outside your houses. Team Wow Kidz wishes you all a very Happy Diwali and a Happy New Year!!

Wow Kidz Wishes everyone a very HAPPY DUSSEHRA!!!

Our motherland, India, is a colossal country with distinct religions and cultures. Despite having hundreds of religious groups, we Indians respect each religion and have adapted to different cultures beautifully. Though there are many festivities going on around the year, one of the most exciting fete for the North Indians is Dussehra.

Dussehra is predominantly a north Indian festival but is also acknowledged with equal fervor in the southwestern cities along with the rest of the country. It is celebrated on the tenth day of Navratri, also known as Vijayadashami, Vijaya meaning victory and Dashami meaning ten. Dussehra is marked with the victory of good over evil.

Like every other festival, Dussehra too has a story behind its celebration. This holy day is honored for strength, victory and a lot more. As per the mythology, this festival commemorated the event where Lord Ram fought for his wife, Goddess Sita, who was kidnapped by the wicked, Ravana. On this day, Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya after fighting Ravana and getting Goddess Sita along. Ram was escorted by his brother Lakshman and Hamnuam, accompanied by his army of monkeys.

Dussehra is originally a ceremony for Hindus but the rituals are performed by all the others as well. It was on this day that Lord Ram won over the wrongful and is remembered by enacting the same scene as Ravana Dahan, where a tall sculpture of a ten-headed diabolic, Ravana, is burned down, depicting the death of ten vile traits and victory of love.

So here's wishing the Wow Kidz family a very happy Dussehra.

Let the Rock N' Roll begin with Munna and Rockstar Jigri!!!

Ghost Mera Dost is a cartoon series based on a 14-year-old budding filmmaker, Munna, and his invisible ghost best friend, Rockstar Jigri. Munna, the protagonist of the show, is an aspiring director and makes his own amateur movies as a typical routine while Rockstar is the funny mischievous ghost best friend of Munna who helps him in the making of his movies on a regular basis.

Munna, being new to Beverly Heights, feels like an outsider as he perceives that he doesn’t belong to the Royalty of the place. During this time in his life, Rockstar has been a real best friend to him and has supported Munna through all his difficulties to fit in into the crowd and finding himself amid all the stardom.

Rockstar Jigri has lived a very elegant and glamorous life of being an extremely famous pop star before his death. Rockstar’s ghost cannot be seen or heard by anyone unless they wear anything that he owned before his death. Munna can see Rockstar only because he wears a blue guitar necklace that was owned by Rockstar before his demise. Rockstar also had a crocodile for a pet, who Munna is very scared of.

Munna’s sole ambition has always been to become a filmmaker and make his own dilettante movies all the time, most of them being either Zombie movies or prank videos. Rockstar tries to help Munna create his films while also engendering a fair share of problems in Munna’s life at the same time.

Simba : The Lion King's Escapades Now Available On Wow Kidz

Simba is the protagonist of a show based on the movie "The Lion King". The storyline rests on the difficulties faced by the character, Simba, through his journey from being an adventurous cub to an invincible and ambitious ruler of the jungle named Savannah.

As a cub, Simba admired his father and wished to step into his shoes and become a ruler as mighty as his father. Like his father, Simba is also willing to jump into combat when it comes to saving the lives he cares about, even if it means putting his own life in danger. Simba's father was shot by some hunters, bringing the villain of the show, Sher Khan, closer to his aim of becoming the king. After his father's death, Simba and two of his brothers were looked after by Bagheera, Chameli and some other members of the jungle.

Growing up, Simba was rather mischievous and delightful. He took upon challenges and helped the people of the jungle in numerous ways with Bugshot, his best friend, lending him a helping hand. On this expedition, Simba is either learning about various aspects of the jungle or preparing himself for becoming the best ruler the animals of the jungle had ever seen. Simba found himself in many troublesome situations which eventually helped him grow and become better.

Like any other series you would've seen, this makes no exception and has a Villain as malicious as any other. The Villain of this show, Sher Khan, has proven to be vile and concocted plenty of complications in Simba's life. Sher Khan plotted to kill Simba countless times in order to become the king of Savannah. Every chapter of Simba is a detached story where Simba and his friends are encountered with problems fabricated by Sher Khan.

Live the journey of Simba along with him by watching all the episodes of the show "Simba: The Lion King" only on Wow Kidz...

Wow Kidz wishes everyone a Happy Janmashtami!!!

India is one of the most divergent countries in the world and has its own set of diverse cultures and traditions. Despite having umpteen number of cultural festivals, the people of India have the same amount of enthusiasm and ardour as for that of any other festival. One among the many festivals celebrated in India is “Janmashtami”. Janmashtami is also publically known in many other labels such as Sri Krishna Jayanti, Ashtami Rohini, Krishnashtami, Gokulashtami, Saatam Aatham and so on.

Janmashtami is a festival mainly celebrated by Hindus all over the globe. This occasion commemorates the birth of a Hindu lord, Shri Krishna. The legend was born on the midnight of Ashtami (8th day of Krishna Paksha) in the month of Shravana in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Lord Krishna, being one of the most worshipped Hindu deities, is very familiar among his devotees as the most adorable, mischievous son, romantic lover, and compassionate friend, and so his birthday is celebrated for all these aspects.

Certain traditions and practices of Janmashtami vary with different locations around the globe. In some parts, devotees celebrate by fasting, singing prayers, keeping night vigils, visiting Krishna temples and so on. It is celebrated with extravagance in the cities of Mathura, as he was born there, and Vrindavan as he grew up there. While in some cities, children dress up as Krishna or Gopis and visit their neighbours. Apart from this, this festival is celebrated with much fervour in some cities of Maharashtra where the festival is also familiar with the name of Dahi Handi.

In Maharashtra, Dahi Handi is celebrated by hanging an earthen pot of curd, milk or buttermilk at a height using ropes. There are groups of people that transform themselves into precarious human pyramids to reach the pot and break. These groups travel across the city and compete with each other to see who can break the most pots. These groups are then honoured with various kinds of top-tier prizes.

Wow Kidz wishes everyone a very Happy Janmashtami!!

Ramadan- The Holy month of fasting and feasting

This year, the month of Ramadan is being observed by Muslims all over the world from 17th May to 15th June. It is a holy month dedicated to prayers, introspection and fasting during the sunlight hours. It is the month on the Islamic calendar in which Prophet Muhammad is said to have revealed the Holy Qu'ran - to the Muslims.

During this month, as Muslims deal with hunger and thirst, they are reminded of the daily sufferings of those who are less fortunate. Muslims use this time to reflect on their lives and contemplate how they can cultivate healthy habits throughout the rest of the year and do away with any bad habits. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims pledge not to tell lies, gossip, or be greedy.
It is also a time for charity and participation in family and community gatherings to strengthen bonds. Aid organizations, charities, and mosques often offer free meals to the public during the non-fasting hours.

During Ramadan, only 2 meals are consumed - one in the early morning called the “Suhoor” and the other post-sunset, called “Iftar”. It is a great opportunity for families to gather and spend time together whilst preparing and having meals. During Ramadan, Muslims make an extra effort to go and see their loved ones.

At the end of Ramadan, comes the grand and joyous celebration of Eid ul-Fitr lasting for 3 days. On the first day, everyone puts on new clothes to visit the mosque, which is followed by a feast with friends and family.

For a happy and fulfilling Ramadan:

- Turn off the television. Focus that energy in having interactions with loved ones and inculcating good habits.
- Eat moderately. Develop healthy eating habits, feel grateful for the food you eat and empathize with the poor.
- Use social media wisely. Spend less time on the Internet.
- Pray more.

We can use this month for self-improvement, to feel grateful for the life that we live and support and love each other.

Here’s wishing everyone “Ramadan Mubarak

International Day of Families!

A family by definition goes like “a group of people who are related to each other”, but it is more than that. It is a meaningful connection: an experience in itself. It is an incredible and an unbreakable bond—created by mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and others. The feeling of being part of a family gives you the comfort in a world of uncertainty.

As it happens to be the only relationship in one’s life that one doesn’t get to choose at birth, it is considered as “God's gift”. That being said, it becomes the most important heartfelt and pure relationship that one must hold on to.

I remember my cousin who once did a project on designing his family tree. The concept of making a family tree is quite old, but people still do it to keep the posterity updated about who their ancestors were (lineage) and it also helps them trace their genetically inherent qualities. Family trees are often presented with the oldest generations at the top and the newer generations at the bottom. So, my cousin was able to trace and jot down his previous four generations but couldn’t go beyond that because of lack of available data.

Extending this concept of a family tree, in reality, we all are like the branches of a big tree whose roots are much deeper than we think they would be.
I recall a phrase from the Upanishads which means “The World is one family”( Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam).  One may wonder how their small family can possibly have an impact on the entire world, but one fails to realize that this tiny representation is what the world is made of. Everyone is blessed with their own unique families and peace in this world does begin with peace at home. The home is where certain eternal qualities and values can be inculcated with culture and education. Every family has its own set of values, norms and beliefs which it passes on to or shares with the immediate smaller families and this in a way represents a network of families which we call a social circle or “society”.

A family network might not necessarily be the ones with blood relations. The bond can also be of friendship, love and care. It is the people who matter who care for you and accept you. The ones who do anything to see you smile & love you no matter what, in a way become part of your family. The world consists of various such dynamic families and in-turn with this network the whole world becomes one big family. We are all a part of different families but we go through the same emotions with them. That’s what makes us one.

Today, at the time, where there is always a fear existing among people be with respect to the tensions across territories or the possible inter-community feuds, the world needs love in huge quantity. Only then can we end the existing animosity among our fellow beings.

As a start, in our homes, we could celebrate with the people in our immediate environment – a.k.a. our family on this International Family Day.  Let’s become a true representation of happiness and set a fine example for this world.

So this International family day, I have listed down few pointers, which each one of us should try doing.
1) Appreciate your family: Say Thanks to them for being with you, during your happy and sad times
2) Have at least one meal a day together with your family
3) Discuss your joys , share your happiness and find reasons to celebrate with them. Let them know what you feel about them
4) Plan that family trip that you had been postponing because of your tight work schedule
5) If not possible to meet them physically, call them or drop a text. Don’t think too much if you haven’t spoken to them of late. It’s never too late to begin.

“Family isn’t just anything. It’s everything.”

Happy Gudi Padwa 2018!!

India is well known all over the world as a country of cultural and traditional festivals as it has many cultures and religions. One of it is “Gudi Padwa”. Gudhi Padwa is a spring-time festival that marks the traditional New Year for Marathi Hindus. It is celebrated in and near Maharashtra on the first day of the Chaitra month to mark the beginning of the New Year according to the lunisolar Hindu calendar.

The festival is linked to the mythical day on which Hindu god Brahma created time and universe. To some, it commemorates the coronation of Rama in Ayodhya after his victory over evil Ravana, or alternatively the start of Shalivahan calendar after he defeated the Huns invasion in the 1st century.

Gudi means flag, erect flag on the houses as part of the celebration in Maharashtra where it is mainly celebrated. The word “Padava” is derived from the Sanskrit word “Pratipad” for the first day of each fortnight in a lunar month i.e. the first day on which the moon appears after the so-called "new moon" day and the first day after the full moon.

On the festive day, courtyards in village houses will be swept clean and plastered with fresh cow-dung. Even in the city, people take the time out to do some spring cleaning. Women and children work on intricate rangoli designs on their doorsteps, the vibrant colours mirroring the burst of colour associated with spring. Everyone dresses up in new clothes and it is a time for family gatherings.

The same New Year festival is known by other names in different regions of the Indian subcontinent. However, this is not the universal New Year for all Hindus.

Rangpanchami: India's Colorful and Boisterous festival.

Holi is one of the most colourful and loved festivals of India. Holi is celebrated after winter ends and summer is about to start that's March! What's a better way to welcome summer and kill the heat? Of course, with colors and water balloons.  Holi is celebrated as a divine love of Lord Krishna and Radha.

The evening before the extravagance of color takes over, the bonfire is lit for the symbolic destruction of the devil Holika by Lord Vishnu, songs are sung, and people dance around the bonfire to celebrate the victory of good over evil. Holi is festival of spreading love and fun with everyone, eating sweets, applying colors to each other.

So let us all celebrate it with our favorite cartoon characters Vir: The Robot Boy and Chacha Bhatija, check out how much fun they have by playing safe holi join them in this and have fun.

This year lets avoid to harm the environment and bring an end to Noise pollution, Water polluting and use of harmful colors. So let us all be responsible and use organic colors and Save Water. Natural colors can be made with turmeric, sandal wood, and flowers. Natural colors are safe for environment and skin both.

One Two Buckle My Shoe - Counting Numbers & Benefits

One Two Buckle My Show, the popular English nursery rhyme & counting is as old as late 18th Century. Around 1780, for the first time, it was heard in Massachusetts. However, the first published version of this traditional nursery rhyme is found in London in a children songs book called “Songs for the Nursery” that appeared in 1805.

The main purpose of the song is to teach kids how to count.  When first learning to count, a child counts by rote memorization. This means he will likely be able to say the names of the numbers from 1 through 10 simply because he has memorized the order of the words, “one, two three ... ten.” However, he likely does not yet understand that 6 is 2 more than 4, for example.

Let us discuss certain methods that will help your child get better counting skills.

One-To-One Correspondence

When counting, the concept of “one-to-one correspondence” is the understanding that each object being counted represents “one more.”

It is highly likely that a child that even before understanding one -to- correspondence, he will count by rote memorization. When asked to count a small group of objects, he will likely count quickly through the numbers he has memorized and randomly touch the objects being counted instead of touching and counting each object just once.

For example, a child given five balls may automatically count aloud from 1 to 10 when asked to count the balls pointing to random beads as he proudly shows how well he can “count.”

Counting On

'Counting On' means continuously counting a new set of objects added to a previously counted group without recounting the entire group.

For example, give your child two oranges and ask him to count them. Later give him three more oranges. Counting on would involve your child using one-to-one correspondence method to the additional three oranges by counting “three, four, five” instead of starting again at one and recounting all five oranges.

Counting on is an important skill because it is time-consuming and impractical to recount a group of items each time additional pieces are added. Counting on is of great value, as it is very tedious, to recount a group of objects each time additional pieces are added.
